Natasha De Silva

Natasha De Silva is a graduate student at California State University, Northridge, pursuing a Master of Public Health with a concentration in applied epidemiology. Her academic focus and professional interests lie in the fields of infectious disease, disaster preparedness, and the impact that socioeconomic factors have on health outcomes.
 
Natasha is working as a research assistant for Dr. Chris Rogers and will be assisting in using the SHARE data to spatially link the results to neighborhood and census tract characteristics. Her prior research experience at UC Davis assessed how median income in Sacramento, Davis, and Berkeley related to healthy food options at checkout areas in grocery stores. She has previous experience working as a health insurance specialist, assisting low income families enroll into Medi-Cal and seniors into Medicare.
 
During her free time, Natasha enjoys playing tennis, spending time with her friends, and catching up on her favorite shows.
